If you could blog about anything ...

That's sort of an ironic question to me because technically you could blog about anything. I guess that is exactly the point. For my marketing class as a semester group project we are to create a blog and see how many readers we can get. Personally, I read the blogs that have the content I am interested in, have quippy writing styles, and don't bother me with a whole bunch of extra crap.

I imagine other people feel similarly, but I could always use an informal research poll.
What sort of a blog would you be interested in reading? What attracts you to a blog? What are your blog pet peeves?

I now open the discussion to your rantings.

It appears that the rantings will be just my own. :)

Pet peeves: lots of advertisements. I know that some blogs need a source of income, but if there are more ads than content, I'm gonna be turned off. If ads are done tastefully, I don't mind as much. I also tend to mind less if the ads are related to what I'm viewing (none of this "lower your mortgage" or "get a college degree by mail" stuff with the little clips of people dancing).

What do I want to read: reviews (mostly of restaurants in the Provo area, but books, music, movies and tech products are good, too) or maybe a blog about BYU football where you cover some of the basics of different kinds of plays, maybe some player bios, describe what was really good or really bad in the past game. Something to help people who don't know a lot about the sport. That's all I've got right now.

Also, layout is important. Don't make it hard for me to find the content I'm looking for.
