Finally!

So over 2 months after graduating and stopping my job (it was a student job and since I was no longer a student...) I am finally working again! It's been quite the process. During most of January and part of February I was job hunting and writing out tons of resumes and letters of intent. At the beginning of February I got a call from my old job (the student one) and my old boss said that he had a spiritual prompting that he needed to help me find a job. He wanted me to come in that day so they could see what they could do to help. Wow! Only at BYU would that happen.

When I went and met with the two bosses they made some calls to different connections they had with people in my major (speech therapy) and even offered me my old job as a secretary/research assistant back. They hadn't been able to replace me and had decided to try and hire me on as part time staff employee so I could work as a non-student. After thinking and praying about it, I decided to accept my old job back. Sadly, there have been a lot of complications and I didn't get approved to start working until yesterday (Monday). I'm so excited to finally be able to work and not have to try and find productive ways to keep busy all day (like making curtains).

Though this job is somewhat tedious at times, there are a ton of great perks to working at a research branch of the McKay School of Education:
- Derrick started working there as an assistant technical support person in January so we get to pull faces at each other at work and carpool (very nice since we only have one car).
- I get to see Tara a lot more and get "story time" (basically where I hear about boys and roommates, etc.) since she is also a secretary/research assistant there. For those of you who don't know Tara, she's been an amazing friend since freshman year, a roommate, and the maid of honor at my wedding.

Here's Derrick and me surrounding Tara and pulling cheesy faces while waiting for the midnight showing of Pirates of the Caribbean 2.

- Since I stopped and came back I was offered a very nice pay raise.
- Even though today kinda felt like my first day on the job, I was able to remember everything that stayed the same since I left and even train one of the other secretaries. I think it's funny to be the one doing the training especially because I'm now the new person.
- It's a really fun atmosphere to work in with social and friendly co-workers.

Sweet deal! I'm glad you finally got a job. Trying to find one was definitely one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. So are you going to keep working after unnamed son is born?

Hey Congrats, that's great. Boyd was looking for a job for a while and never did end up getting hired, so we had to get our first student loan. He was so disappointed.... he wanted to get through all of college without any debt.
