Curtain Project

I've had a lot more free time on my hands since I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders (speech therapy) last December. Derrick still has homework so I get to find ways to entertain myself so I don't distract him too much. One of my recent projects has been to make curtains to help hide the really ugly blinds in our front room. It took me a little longer than I thought it would because I made up the pattern as I went along.

Ugly blinds before curtains
(we had to bend wire hangers to attach the curtain rod because of our
"lovely" cinder block walls)

With curtains
(Derrick was great - he attached the rod and helped me put up the curtains)

Those turned out really nice! I'm impressed with your adaption abilities. Won't it be nice when you're out of housing with cinderblock walls?

Wow, those curtains look awesome! I love the color choice (I'm totally a neutral lover).
