It all started with Zach going to play with the pans as usual. The next thing I know there's a loud clang and Zach started screaming. I went to comfort him and found that his big toe was bleeding heavily and his toenail was barely hanging on. I had no idea what to do and blood was getting on everything. It was scary. After slowing the stream and calming Zach down with fruit roll-up stickers, I carried Zach to urgent care because I wanted to make sure it got bandaged up right.
Ten minutes of trying to get a 13 month old to soak his foot in some solution stuff (that ended up everywhere), lots of gauze used in vain attempts to stop the bleeding, jelly foam stuff that did more to stop the bleeding, and lots more gauze later, Zach had a massive bandage on his toe disguised to look like a sock.
It turns out that the pan sliced through Zach's toenail a little down from the tip and at the base so he'll lose the nail. Good news is it should grow back alright. Thankfully Zach's toe didn't seem to bother him since we left the doctor. He's been busy running around, climbing on, and getting into everything.

Poor little Zachary! He really did seem to not be bothered by it later which is great. Maybe he's more mature than me... I always baby my "battle wounds" for a long time! I'm glad that his toe nail should grow back.
Watch out for round two!
Scary!! Who knew a cold pan could be so dangerous? Glad he's doing ok.
Sorry to hear about Zach's accident with the pan. I can't stand the sight of blood, especially my own so if it was my child's I'm sure I would have been freaking out. Glad everything is ok now.
Ouch! That sounds brutal. I'm glad you are close to urgent care. I'm glad he is up and running once again.
Taking your child to urgent care when they are bleeding is at least as traumatic for the mom as it is for the kid. I'm glad it wasn't any more serious and that he is back running around.
Sorry to hear that, but it looks like he gave the pan as good as he got!
